BEADVenturess is the first store in Merced to be dedicated to developing local artistic talent and increase the hobby of beadwork.  At BEADVenturess everyone is an artist just waiting to be discovered.  A little bit of the most common and some hard to find types of beads and supplies are available for sale including semi-precious stones, crystal and fire polished glass, freshwater pearls, stringing supplies, components for earring design, watches and more.  If you don’t find what you are looking for, the owner, Carly Rodriques, is more than happy to custom order anything, “…this business is about bringing beads closer to home, so many bead enthusiasts like me, had to travel as far as San Francisco or the coast to find new beads.  Now, I am able to keep them shopping here at home in Merced.” 

The shop now is small but the spirit of the work is mighty.  BEADVenturess is currently offering classes in basic bead stringing, earring design, and bead stitching.  Classes are available to anyone from age 5 to 105.  Birthday parties are also available and can be customized to meet your needs.  No time to come to the store for a class?  Carly will bring the store to you in the form of a home party.  For only $15 per person, a color, design and necklace instruction class can be arranged at your home, office or church.  “What I have been finding is a lot of people looking for new ways to slow down their hectic lifestyles and needing a new hobby to help them become centered, calm and creative.  Working with beads can often be their solution.”  Custom designs for bridesmaids, proms and gifts are also available as well as jewelry repair.  Stop in to BEADVenturess today to get on the mailing list for information about free beading circles, contests, new products and more.  Open Monday through Friday 1-6:00 PM and Saturday's 10-6:00 PM or by appointment.
